Old grass seed

    Have some 3 yr old grass seed that I never used .Want to set it tomorrow. My gut tells me its fine. Any opinions. ?

    You should have thrown a few of the seeds in a tray before now to see how many would germinate only sure way of knowing if they are still good.

    That would have been the sensible thing to do . will chance mixing with fresh seed at a higher rate .

    Had a bag left here too about 2 yrs ago that the mice got at. Had to throw out the bag as it was all holes. Had a heap of old yard scrapings mostly silt washed of the field etc. Decided to scatter them on it for the craic. 6 months later not one had germinated. Use them within the year is best advice.
