Hi all - I'd really appreciate some help from the Experts on here.

Car is a 2002 Toyota Avensis Verso 2.0L Petrol

So basically it was catastrophically failing emissions in the NCT so I dropped it into the local Motor Diagnostics garage who charged me €40 and left me with the below shopping list....
    1135 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor.

    A/F Sensor
    (Air/Fuel) Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction

    Bank 1 - Sensor 1

Anyhow I was hoping someone could advise where to pick this up at a good price?

Online, in a shop anywhere and if its a bargain then all the better!

I searched for a while and Amazon.com have a Denso part that seems to match but I can't seem to find anything closer to home.

    - I had thought about going to the scrapyards but don't know how hardy/long living these parts are and if this is a waste of time and money?

Need to get this through NCT as Wife refuses to drive it til the Cert gets handed over - Car is perfect except for emissions BTW ;)

    Thanks for reading.

I've bought oxygen sensors (aka lambda probes) from amazon UK for my Toyota. No regrets. You may need to buy a special socket for removal & installation.

    Thanks for this Blackbox.

Would anyone on here be able to advise on how I can translate the diagnostics readout I have received (in my OP) to an actual manufacturers product please?

    - It would be great if I could actually search for a Bosch or Denso or whatever part number and know its 100% right for my engine and then I can just go ahead and order it?

Given that the code is only for the heater circuit within the sensor that may not be your problem at all, if the car is up to temperature it won't make much difference if the heater circuit works or not.

Thanks for this & Sorry - I never saw a notification for this reply!

    - That's an interesting point because as soon as I gave my Mechanic the results from the Diagnostics he just shook his head and said that's not your problem!

But thing is I'm not sure what to do next? Does this kind of automatically mean that I need a new Cat?

    - Where would I get one at a good price?

Hey sorry for the delay - So I went looking for the NCT summary page that time and weeks later I was still looking with no sign of the bloody thing Kept hoping I'd find it sooner or later so I could post proper details here and get some good advice to sort this all out.

Was stopped by the Guards then and told to sort out my long overdue NCT so back to working about this..... Was lucky not to have car taken away on the spot.

New NCT just done yesterday - Results below and have 4 weeks to retest - So hoping to be done and dusted by then!

    Low Idle (710 RPM) - CO 0.70 vol% - [Above 0.30] = FAIL
    - HC 201 ppm - [Above 0 ppm] They have fail but then N\A? Presume it's exempt due to age of car...

    High Idle (2810 RPM) - CO 2.59 vol% - [Above 0.20] = FAIL
    - Lambda: 0.94 - [Not between 0.97 and 1.03] = FAIL
    - HC 165 ppm = Not above 200 = Pass

Anyhow hope below means something to ye Experts out there & would be so grateful for advice on hope to get this fixed once and for all after all the stress and worry....

    Thanks.

    Hey there,

I was wondering if I just drop this into the local Toyota main dealer will they just go away and sort it all out with a guarantee of then passing the NCT?

Issue I have is that the Main Dealer can be a very expensive route and I have f all cash and also the car isn't worth a huge amount :(

Anyone have any idea what cost might be - Ballpark??!

PS. Obviously dependant on if a new CAT (what should that cost!) is needed etc. but even rough guesses would be helpful!

    Thanks....

Or if there are any recommendations for a garage/person in the Limerick area who would take this on I'd appreciate it also.

    Thanks

@OP, the 1135 is an error code, not a part number.

P1135 = faulty heating element inside oxygen sensor. P1135 seems to refer to Sensor 1, Bank1,

    http://engine-codes.com/p1135_toyota.html

Normal fix is a new sensor, these should be €100-150 from any motor factor.
