Mistake on CV after sending it.

Spent a good 3 days redoing my CV for a dream job I've been gunning at for ages after it finally came up. Must have read it over 10 times before sending it, well pleased with my handiwork thinking it was the best CV and cover letter I had ever put together. Noticed just after I hit send I had a howler of a mistake (well maybe).

Basically I put down the wrong year for a job I had about 6 years back. Have I sank my chances?

I've been kicking myself all day.

Were the years still in sequence even with the error ?

Yeah still in sequence, but basically makes it look like there was a year and a half of my life unaccounted for. Hope they don't think I was doing porridge or something! If I get to interview I guess I can correct it, but it may well make me look sloppy.

Feel like a complete dummy. Went over and over it looking for spelling, punctuation and grammar errors and overlooked the dates.

OP you could email the correct one and say that you have "updated" your CV and wish to replace the earlier one.

Personally I'd leave it alone. Sending a new one will only highlight the issue and make them aware that you dont check you're work before you present it.
Management dont like to be given mistakes

Resend it, the mistake will be spotted at some stage likely during the interview and you will have to hold your hands up then.

I've decided to leave it be, an email highlighting it might make me look more a doofus. If it comes up in interview I'll correct it. It's not as obvious as a spelling error, misplaced word or grammer howler. Still beating myself up about it.

Lesson learned. Go over your CV with a microscope!
