So a few years ago they changed it so kids make their Communion in second class instead of first.

Does this mean that there was a year where no kids made their Communion?

No, they'd have made their communion twice.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I was one of the first to make it in 2nd class back sometime in the eighties. There were still people from 1st class making it then, so I assume it was phased in.

That year was all satan needed and that is why we should vote no in the upcoming referendum to change the minimum age of the president.

That is if I have my religious portents correct.

The lucky bastards, they'd have got paid off twice, which is what it's all about.

Not to mention the alcohol for the parents which is what it is really all about.

Myself & the wife are flaming fundamentalist atheists
No church wedding, no baptisms, no communions, nothing

First born has just reached the age & managed to guilt trip us into a visit to Disneyland instead
Instead of making a fortune he's costing me a fortune

Take me back Jesus, I repent

First class, second class, surely the kids are far too young to be making such vows?

Maybe they don't even make vows? Can somebody please tell me what 1st communion is all about.

On the downside, it is another excuse for parents and relatives to drink the absolute bag out of it again and subseqently make drunken idiots of themselves twice over when really the day is about the kids

Yet another thread mocking the Catholic Church.

First Holy Communion is not an excuse for a party, a piss-up or to extort money from adults.

It's a holy ceremony which marks the significant event in a child's life when for the first time they put the body of a 2000 year old dead man (who was killed because of their sins) on their tongue.

Only kids who made their Communion in 1st class are true Catholics in the eyes of the lord.

This must be a Dublin thing. People round these parts are welcomed into the lords world from the year 1st of primary beginnings of education in the system.

It's symbolism for cannibalism where you get to eat human flesh masqueraded as bread.

Fucking A. Old school religion. None of your touchy feely bull**** - unless we're talking about actual touching and feeling.
