    Hi,
    Am looking for some advice.

I bought some goods online from the US and they are held up in Portlaoise for payment of vat/excise.the goods are over 650 euro. I have no problem paying whats due however finding a revenue dept that will process the transaction (SAD entry) is proving impossible. All the numbers i have called have said i have to call a private customs clearance agent who charge €50 to process my vat payment. does anyone know a Revenue dept or ph no that will process this transaction for me ?

    Thanks
    Bryan

According to Revenue's website, you should have received a Notice of Arrival from Revenue which tells you how to obtain the S.A.D.

The private clearance agent can do this on your behalf, but they will charge you a fee.

What does the Notice of Arrival say about getting the SAD yourself and filling it out?

It does not give you that option

The sad entry can be completed and processed by
    A custom clearance agent
    or
At certain revenue offices (for phone numbers refer to green pages in the telephone directory marked Revenue!)

Thanks will give them a call.

No wonder the public and semi sector is in an absolute jock. Still doing everything by carrier pigeon. I apologise if you work in it ....it must drive you nuts.
