Hi guys just looking for some advice before I start randomly buying parts like motors etc.

Basically the rear wiper has been not working for a while, started off getting more and more feeble (sticking), not alway s going back to the park position etc. Then it completely died for a time. Now it is still dead but has started making a humming noise whenever the ignition is on or the car is running, and is doing my head in, which has suddenly motivated me to fix it :) .

Everything else electrical at the rear seems to be functioning correctly (water spray, lights, rear window heater etc.)

First step is to take motor out and clean it. You can then also clean linkage etc and maybe this alone will get it back to work again.
If it doesn't work, just buy a new motor, they're not expensive.

Ta had a look and seems it was just rust seizure, the bottom of the motor shaft was as good as welded to the rest of the casing. Didn't look easily salvagable but a cheap second hand one from a scrapped focus on adverts and its running as good as new anyway.

It's a right cnut of a job to get access to the bottom bolt holding it on. It will require a full toolbox with various attachments just to get at it.
