    Nothing. But sit back and I will tell you a little story.

    During the lifetime of my mortgage interest rates were always double digits, as high as 18% if memory serves. I had to save a set amount for 24 consecutive months with the building society. And that had to amount to 20% of the property value before I could be considered for a mortgage. There were no options like interest only or fixed or tracker back then, only variable rate mortgages.

    I am thinking of going back to the building society and asking for some of my money back. On the basis that the people today think they are being overcharged at 4% and want me and other taxpayers to pay for them to get a reduction.

    The people on trackers should be asked to fund this, but of course I know that will never happen.

    Which mortgage? The First Or second one? If you only have one mortgage to pay back you didn't do celtic tiger properly.
