Lost registration book

    NCT coming up soon. Had to cancel it as I realised I didn't have my logbook (since been told that I can do it without it!)

    Anyhow, paid my €12 for replacement and received a receipt via post today. But no Vehicle Reg. book. Will this take long to arrive? I thought it was necessary for NCT but it seems it's not? My NCT is next week!!!

    You don't need to cancel the NCT. Even if asked and you don't have the log book they will still test it. They just will not issue the pass cert until you produce the log book.

    A lot of times they don't even look for it.

    I've done various NCTs and never been asked for it, but always had it. It specifies on website that you must have it so I wish I had known you didn't have to before I cancelled. Anyway, I rescheduled it for just 2 weeks later so it was fine. Hope it passes!
