2 heat sources,electrical protection?

    Hi folks,
    If a house has an oil boiler and a solid fuel stove both controlled thermostatically does it need any other firm of electrical interlocking?what happens if both come on together???

    The two systems should have been designed and fitted to allow the systems to work at the same time.
    There is ways of electrically interlocking them but I don't agree with them due to the event of failure what happens.
    Most people that have dual systems have the oil on to preheat and then let the sound fuel take over
