Is it true that 3 days JSA is deducted?

A friend of mine is coming of JSA after nearly a year. He has heard that the dept take your first 3 days when you sign on and that he may recieve it at the end when he signs off. Is this true?

There is no payment given for the first three days of claim.

You should apply for Jobseeker's Allowance the first day you become unemployed. It is important to apply on the first day you become unemployed because you will not get paid for the first 3 days of your claim.
