Meh, Frasier tried very hard to be clever, some of the stuff was silly. The whole Daphne being quirky, psychic, her brothers...awful. The show was ruined when they put Niles and her together, he had been the best character.

Seinfeld, Curb and Arrested Development for me for the US stuff.

Peep Show and the League of Gentlemen from the UK.

The Simpsons - Absolutely brilliantly written. You can re watch it time and time again and still laugh along.

(Early i.e. up to S3 or so) Community - Flew under the radar a bit when it first launched and then went downhill fast as it got high on it's own supply and fired then rehired the original writer.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Found this gem on Netflix one day and I've been hooked ever since. It's fairly off-the-wall but brilliant all the same.

Fr. Ted - Don't need to say too much about it really.

I just really don't get all the major love for Parks. Not one laugh out loud moment in 10 episodes.

Similarly It's Always Sunny. It's ok. Just ok. But it's no Frasier. Or even Seinfeld.

Obviously these shows are much too subtle for my mainstream mind.

Basically Fraiser or Niles had to be onscreen of it wasn't funny. Preferably together. It wasn't really an ensemble show despite a largish cast.

The Larry Sanders Show - utterly brilliant from start to finish.

The guest appearances are testament to the buzz it created & to just how highly it was regarded at the time - Seinfeld, John Stewart, Jim Carrey, Letterman, Warren Beatty, Sharon Stone, Robin Williams and too many others to mention. It's been cited as a profound influence by Larry David, Ricky Gervais & Armando Ianucci and acted as a springboard for a hefty array of talent - Jeffrey Tambor, Judd Apatow, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Silverman & Jeremy Piven amongst them.

More importantly though, it was the first show to mark out HBO as a place where talented creatives were given the time and space to challenge convention, while endeavouring to create something both exceptional and unique in television programming.

    In no particular order

Only Fools / Fawlty Towers - Classics
Men behaving Badly - Ok to watch an episode every few months
Scrubs - Liked it when watching it originally, wouldn't re-watch so much
Fr Ted - Best example of Irish comedy writing ever

It's always sunny in Philadelphia - Love this show. Got Netflix solely to watch entire series.
Trailer Park Boys - Similar to IASIP, kind of an acquired taste but I love the absurdness of it and the passion they put in to their swearing :D
Fraser/Cheers - Recognize the quality but never really thought about checking out full series
Seinfeld - really didn't click with me for some reason.
Friends - Writing not a patch on most of the above but something I'd glance at when I come across it.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia. Dunno how they come up with some of the ridiculous episodes but it's genius.

Dennis Reynolds is one of the best characters ever created, countless classic lines.

    Frasier and the Simpsons.

People really need to stop going on about Frasiers decline as if it impinges on it's greatness as a show.

The first 7 seasons were brilliant and the last season was at the same level as well.

It had 3 mediocre seasons (8,9, and 10) but even in those seasons there were a few classic episodes as well.

8 top class seasons out of 11 is pretty impressive and the show declined mainly because a large amount of writers left after the 7th season not because of Daphne and Niles being together.

Frasier and the Simpsons at there best had more laughs per minute than any other sitcoms in my opinion.

It's very hard for comedys to keep being funny. For Frasier to be good for 7 seasons, at 24 episodes a season is amazing. Considering Only Fools and Horses is held up as one of the best british comedys, that got shíte when Cassandra and Raquel came into it. That was the 24th episode. That's 1 season of Fraser!

Anyway, for me it's Peep Show, makes me laugh out loud more than anything else and one of the few comedys that I can watch again.
