Anyone know how many oxygen sensors on a ( 2000 Toyota Corolla compact e11 1.4. ) how hard are they to replace? I know a special socket is needed. Any brands/shops that you would recommend to buy them? Thanks in advance:)

Usually two. One near the exhaust manifold and a second under the car after the cat. Do you know which one is gone?

toyota have the odd thing saying front lambda gone when its the back one at fault, diagnotics done and i would consult main dealer as you dont want to buy twice.

Not necessary to consult a main dealer. Any garage with a power probe or even a multimeter should be able to tell you which one is gone.

never used either on a lambda probe.

as for the tool to take it off.

I bought this a while ago and it works great.

I did need to buy a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter locally as I only have a 1/2 rachet.

If you haven't got access to live data from diagnostics a power probe is a good way to see if the sensor is switching.

How do you know that either of them is faulty?
