Concerned that I have another leak.

Recently I had a tap leak in the bathroom that I identified due to the pump in the hot press kicking off for a few seconds every hour or so even when I wasn't using any water. Got the tap leak fixed but lately I'm again noticing the pump activating when I'm sitting around using nothing. I'm paranoid there is another leak somewhere but can't find any evidence of it. It's an apartment and the pump powers all the taps except for the mains water cold tap in the kitchen. I think the same pump also powers the shower. If I could read the meter on the recently installed water meter outside then I would know for sure. Just wondering if there is anything I can check right now that might help identify what's going on?

    Thanks

    Sometimes with these pumps:

    1. the pressure switch gets dicky. A magnet swung around at the pressure switch can clear that fault

    2. The pressure vessel (if fitted) might need a pumping up...

    What pump is it? Monsoon?

I'm not sure what is what, but there is a device called a Stuart Turner and a device above it called a zilmet. I'm not sure what does what. It's like a dogs dinner in the hotpress with pipes protruding every which way.
I've checked the toilet and there is no water leaking. I have put glasses under all the taps and a stopper in the bath. There is no water anywhere in the morning when I check. I've just remembered to take off the side panel off the bath and look inside, as I had a mixer tap installed there 2 years ago. Job for the morning.

The pump you describe is a Stuart Turner negative head pump, most likely a 330N.
Constant repeditive cycling (running for a couple of seconds at regular intervals) is caused by a loss in water pressure.
From my own experience, the most common cause is the filling valves in toilet cisterns. It takes the very smallest of a drip to cause this problem.
Check if you have isolation valves under the cisterns for the filler valves or if you have service valves on the pump outlet pipework from the pump. The outlet pipes are from the taller brass connectors on the pump.
Turn off the valves and wait to see if the problem stops, if it stops, then you have a leak or a drip somewhere.
If the pump continues to cycle then most likely it will be the non - return valves in the pump that need replacing.
Other, but less likely problems, the pressure switch failing, the pressure vessel (zilmet) or a leak on the pump seals.
Check around the bottom of the pump for signs of damp, this would indicate the pump seals are leaking.
All of the above problems can be rectified with parts, the 330N is a very repairable pump and very rarely needs to be replaced.
