    Hi everyone

Looking for some advice. We are going to remodel our kitchen in the next year if budget allows. Has anyone recently got a Metod kitchen from Ikea? Are you happy with it?

I live in Galway. Has anyone in Galway had an Ikea kitchen fitted? Did you use Ikea fitters or someone local? Did you use the design service?

and lastly are Ikea much cheaper than everyone else? Its much easier to call into our local Cash and Carry or Right Price Kitchens but I got a quote of near €6000 for the cabinets on their own with C&C. This was for the Reflection white gloss kitchen and I felt it was very expensive.

    HI Casa,
I am not in Galway but recently purchased a kitchen from Ikea. Ours consisted of 2 high units, 7 Base Units and all the other extras like cover panels ect.
We had our units assembled in about 3 hours (myself and my partner). The following day, my brother (a carpenter), myself and my father had the full kitchen fitted in 9 hours. It was a relatively hassle free process.

The only problem we had was that the handles we selected. We were short two as they were out of stock and it took a while to get them back in.
Other than that, we saved a nice couple of quid in comparison to getting in a company to do it all.

When you go to Ikea, their team will sit down with your design and tweak it to ensure it is right.

If you use the Ikea kitchen planner, it will give you a very rough idea of price, very quickly.

no matter where you go, shiny doors will cost you a good bit more. You'll be able to get an idea of cost on ikea planner and ikea website.
