Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Car is booked in for the NCT later today but I've lost my licence. If I present my passport will they accept that as an I.D. ??

Or if my wife brings in the car will they do the test even though I am the registered owner??

    Thanks.

Both those options should be fine unless they've changed the I'd to only drivers licence in which case your wife needs to go with you

Presenter ID now a requirement for the NCT.

From 1st May 2012, failure to produce the required identification (driving licence/passport) will result in your vehicle not being issued an NCT certificate at the time of testing.

Either will work as your wife would be a presenter not owner

Exactly. If the wife presents the car it will be her ID they'll be checking not the OP's.
OP, it doesn't matter who presents the car for testing so long as they have ID and can show the registration documents if asked.
