If you are going to ring insurers for a quote for your mum with you as a named driver, expect a high figure

    Let me see.
Mother rings insurance company to take out a new policy on a Honda Civic and wants to add her 19 year old son as a named driver.

Insurance company decodes the above - Honda Civic - 19 year old male =

A bit cynical aren't you. OP's mother might always wanted to cruise in a shltbox

I wanted to change up to something similar to yourself. 1.6 VTEC EP2.

My details are a bit different to your though 18, full license 1year NCB.

They wore only quoting me an extra 450 on my premium to go with the civic over the 1.4 VW I'm driving now. To some people it may sound crazy but considering my premium was less the half of what I paid the year before I couldve stomached it if I was working.

But best thing to do is just to ring around and find out some places will, others won't. First Ireland have always been good for me or if it really needs to be done boxymo, but that will involved having a GPS box being installed in your car.
