Gentlemen, I'm looking for some feedback.

I have been golfing my whole life but stopped when I was about 17 when drink and social life took over but I'm 24 now and have taken it back up the last year and a half. I am a mid-high handicapper (18-20) but unfortunately my driver has packed it in on me. I was looking at picking up this one

Seems like a great price for one of last year's top drivers just wondering if anyone has it or used it? How do you find it?

    Cheers!

I have been looking at the same market with my choice down to the Nike Covert and Cobra Bio Cell. For me, the shaft is a key issue and I seem to hit the ball far better with a 'mid kick' regular shaft (I only came to this conclusion through years of buying drivers that I could only hit well on occasions).

Once you know which shaft suits you, the great thing about the new 'adjustable' drivers is that you have control and can work on finding the settings that best suit your swing / game. I am currently using a Nike VR2 Pro driver head that I bought for €20 and put it on an old Nike SQ shaft, its worked a treat and I now know the settings that work for me. The only reason I'm looking to upgrade is that I have a few vouchers thanks to my new found driving confidence (yes I am a mug to consider changing, but at least I am going in eyes wide open;)).

Finally, a lot of modern drivers are set up to create draw and this can cause a problem if you already have a natural draw shot (like me), so I would bear that in mind when it comes to setting up your new driver.

Best of luck and by the way, I will probably end up with the Nike Covert if the price is right (ignore the list price as you will nearly always get a few yo-yos off by asking whats the best price they could do it for?).

Just a quick follow up to say I went with the Nike Covert 2 and used it over the weekend ..... it certainly does what it says in the blurb and I'm a happy camper. I hit a few crackers that travelled well in excess of my usual limits, but more importantly I hit a few that I felt were off centre and they also travelled a lot further than I expected.

I went with the regular shaft and set it at 10.5 degress which had me hitting it high and long, but I expect to try a lower degree next and see if I can get a better trajectory and more run. In my opinion, having the option to set your driver to your own preferences is a huge benefit.

BTW I bought it in McGuirks ..... although well priced at €179, I did get a little extra off thanks to my hard neck

I ended up getting it in McGuirks as well! The guy told me they were selling for €300 just before the new Vapor stuff came out. Only been to the range a few times with it but I have to say it feels leaps and bounds better than my previous driver. Went for the stiff shaft and tried out a few lofts. Normally I'm used 10.5 but I have to say, 8.5 seems to be working. Hitting way longer than before with not as much height. Love the option to change though.

    Also it looks amazing.
