Im looking for some advice on how to deepen the rebate on a wooden window.
I need to replace the glass because seal has gone.
It's made to take double glaze unit with 5mm space.
I want to replace it with a unit oh 10 mm space.
I have a router, but it's too big to get near the corners.
Is there a special tool for this.
    Thanks in advance.
    P.L.

    you have two options.

1st is ad slips to the timber sections to create a thicker rebate. This is not always possible as moldings interfere.

2nd is use a shoulder plane( this is a special tool that you are looking for) it creates rebates.

there are many different types of plane and a rebate plane with blade close to the nose is also possible.

You can also tidy up the corners with a freshly sharpened chisel if your tidy.
