VW Polo or Ford Fiesta

Im looking at buying either a 2013 Fiesta or a 2012 Polo and im not sure which is the best option to go for. The Polo looks like a more attractive car especially inside. The Fiesta is more expensive but I heard that they are very reliable cars and are cheap to get parts for. I also don't see too many people recommending Polos here.
    Any input? Thanks

EDIT: The Polo is about €8,000 and the Fiesta is about €10,000, with my car as a trade in.

The Fiesta is a nice car, got one myself recently. Can't comment on the Polo.

What engine is in both? I'd get the fiesta if it was a throw up of 1.2 vs 1.2

Take both for a test drive and see, I would think from a reliability point of view both would be in or around the same. For me lookswise and internal spec I would go with the Fiesta if the choice was between the two.

Yep both 1.2, why the Fiesta?

The 1.25 is a sweet little engine, the 1.2 in the polo is only 3 cylinder, and whilst it's good for a 3 pot, it's nowhere near as smooth as the engine in the ford.
The polo feels very serious and a bit dull, plus the tops of the door are hard plastic that hurts your elbow if you rest it on it.
The fiesta just feels more fun and more relevant today than the polo if that makes any sense. The fiesta is just getting into its stride and the polo has already peaked a few years ago - it's sort of old hat now.
That said, it does the small big car thing very well, and people who think vs are great will see it as a miniature golf, so instant respectability assured.

Thanks, im really not sure what to go for.
I think I slightly prefer the looks of the Polo and the smaller price tag. But the Fiesta gets great praise, is a year younger and has lower milage.

You can't base the price on two cars. Like for like the fiesta should be cheaper.

You should look at the seat Ibiza too.

Yeah the interest rates on used fords is about 8% where as with used VW its 5.9%
I really like the Seat Ibiza and was looking at them online but the closest Seat garage to me is an hour away, so for getting it serviced it wouldn't be convenient for me. (I prefer to get the car serviced with the manufacturer)
It's unfortunate because the price of them is very attractive too.

VW and seat are the same thing, it wouldn't matter a whole pile which franchise serviced it.
A lot of VW garages are authorised seat service centres anyway.
The ibizas tend to be cheaper and there were a few special editions with things like aircon and cruise control.
I rented both Ibiza an polo and there's no drawback in getting the seat. The Ibiza is colour sensitive, I think silver or light colour looks best on them.

For me Polo interior is nowhere near as nice a place to be as fiesta interior
