Hello all, I heard a great documentary on NewsTalk about John Collins, AKA the Marathon Man, over the weekend. He mentioned that he meets at the country club every Saturday morning.
Does anyone know if this is part of a club or can anyone just turn up? And what time is it?

Is this the country club on the old cratloe road? This is just a place for a few sneaky pints when you're keeping a low profile. I only see staggering, no running :)

    Hilarious...

There are some fantastic running routes out that direction around Cratloe, Gallows Hill and Meelick and the Knocklisheen Road.

There's a group running out of the pub itself. Facebook page here ->> https://www.facebook.com/pages/Limerick-Country-Club-AC/175121582645837?fref=ts
They're a good group. They organise a few races a year out that way.

Just in passing there's a 5 miler on out there this Friday evening. It's part of the feet on the street series... Again another FB page here ->>https://www.facebook.com/LimerickCountyAthleticsBoard?fref=ts

    Hi,

The Country Club meets every Wednesday evening @ 7pm for a 5 mile run. All abilities welcome. No one will be left behind on the run. We also meet on Saturday mornings @ 11 am for anything from 5 miles up to 20 miles depending on what the members are training for. You will always be guaranteed the 5 mile on a Saturday though.

You can just turn up & introduce yourself. You don't need to be a member to run. Just call out.

Hi We meet at the Country Club pub just beyond Caherdavin on the Old Cratloe Road. We normally meet at 11am. Just turn up & introduce yourself. As I said it will most likely be a 5 mile run.
