    I don't think there's anything to understand. Its a gimmick, but they do look pretty cool. Might get one some day, not at that price though.

    My understanding of it is that the tv is trying to give you a hug?

    Can't see any other logical use of it :o

    It's only good if your at a certain distance from the TV. At the point you get an "immersive" experience.

    Yeah, great if you can position yourself correctly. Not really for a family all over the living room to watch something TV.

    Is your TV positioned in a corner? In that case this unit cold exist there and nobody would be the wiser.

    If positioned against a flat wall however, then some of the above comments may apply.

    Having had a 42" Sony Bravia previously, however, i must say that i was totally underwhelmed at the the Sony 3D experience. I thought that i had an eyesight problem, not being able to appreciate 3D.

    The Samsung Curved 3D though is in a world of its own compared to that.

    At the same time, every TV has it's best viewing angle.

    But that's just my personal opinion.
