    Hi,

Just a query on PIAB, if one refuses an odder from PIAB after a TRA on the advise of their solicitor and then proceed with proceedings, and after a while begin to realise that the solicitor was wrong and that the offer was reasonable considering the extent of their injuries, and that really they were treated as a money making object for the solicitors and their buddies can they drop the proceedings and take the original offer from PIAB.

    Strange one i know

Once an Injuries Board assessment is made, the respondent has 21 days to accept or reject. If the respondent accepts, it depends on whether the claimant accepts or rejects within 28 days of the assessment.

If the assessment is rejected, an authorisation issues, that is the end of the IB involvement and the claimant is free to bring proceedings.

However, very often insurance companies/defendants make offers after proceedings issue.

Please note that if this is a specific query rather than a hypothetical query, this thread will have to be closed.
