I know somebody who has a very good job, senior manager in a business in Amsterdam, but doesn't speak Dutch. Where else in Europe is it possible to work in English? Obviously Ireland & UK are options. Malta & Gibraltar. Anywhere else?

It really depends on the type of job and the seniority level... For instance in the IT area you will probably find a large number of positions in most countries that can be filled by an English speaking candidate and similarly for senior positions in most international companies.

Another interesting point is that many of the smaller countries find it difficult to provide educational material in their own language and so turn to English or German for advanced studies and so many companies are willing to consider English speaking employees. For instance, most Swiss universities now use English as the means of instruction at Masters level and above.
