If I lodge money into my current account, can I withdraw it on my visa debit or make purchases with it from the money in the current account?

    Hi Hana98,

    Thanks for your post today.

Cash lodgements will reflect on your account immediately.
A cheque would need to clear before the funds become available.
A BOI domestic cheque takes 3 working days to clear and a non-BOI domestic cheque takes 5 working days to clear.

    Thanks

    Billy

    Hi,
What does it mean if a current account and visa debit card are linked?

    Hi Hana98,

Thank you for contacting us here on Boards.ie.

Your Visa Debit card is one way of accessing the funds in your current account. You can use this card to purchase items in store, online or over the telephone. You can also use your card at an ATM. When you do this, the funds are debited from your current account.

    We hope this helps,
    Elaine
