Group interview - is it worth it?

I am currently in my final year at college and have been looking for some work over the summer months and probably beyond this (hoping to do a masters part-time next year) and I have luckily been offered a group interview in a weeks time.

My problem is is that I have an oral examination on for my final year the same day (at a later time). I am just worried that my nerves will go into overdrive from the interview that it might affect my performance in the oral exam. My results mean a lot to me and to be honest my degree is more important than a part-time job. However, the interview might even help me get my nerves out of the way I just would hate to go and not get the position at the end!

Also I am wondering how others have got on with group interviews, they sound a little daunting to be honest! It is for retail so I'd also be interested in any advice on what to wear.

    Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't risk it. If it goes badly it could put you on tilt for the oral exam. Masters typically require high grades, often at least a 2.1 or even in some cases a 1.1 so if that is your goal then I wouldn't risk it for a chance at a part time summer job.

The only exception would be if you are relying on a part time job to do the masters and you are living in a part of the country where part time jobs are particularly difficult to come by. In that case it might be worth the risk, otherwise I personally wouldn't risk it.

I don't think I will, it isn't worth it if anything goes wrong! Thanks for the advice:)
