Hi, I'm trying to get rid of my car for scrap, I rang some guys put of the paper and they showed up with a trailer, he offered me 80 euro on phone but downgraded to 40 when he arrived with some waffle, I didntv really car but
He woudent give me a cert for it so I send them packing, they said they'd be back tomorrow with a cert for the car and take it away

What the procedure with a cert ?? Do I keep log book or send to Shannon etc what does these cert look like,

I woudent sign over the car for 40 and espically as its out of tax for 14 months

I think the bucks were from the road.........

When you have deposited your vehicle at an authorised treatment facility, the owner or operator of the facility will:

• Issue you (if you are the registered owner) with a certificate of destruction
• Forward the details of the certificate of destruction to the National Vehicle and Driver File, maintained by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport

The vehicle must be treated within 10 days of being deposited at the facility.

So what do these guys do with certs and log book etc, I don't wantvto see this dar for sale again next week ??

Any details of the car. Most are worth a minimum of 100. Stick it on adverts for 250 and see what offers you get.
I know the bucks from the road and refused to give them a car also previously because they wouldn't do the proper paperwork. They cannot issue a cert - Dept of Transport in Shannon does from an authorised facility.
I have used a guy that I found on Adverts and he was spot on. Paid cash and and the end of life cert was posted from Shannon within a week. Send a pm if you want his name.
