I'm in the process of picking out parts for my new pc which will be used for some gaming. I'm pretty comfortable on most of the things I need such as graphics card, ideally 8gb ram ssd etc but with the range of motherboards and cpus available I'm completely lost.

I'm trying to avoid spending more than I have to as I'm not overly bothered about having all settings maxed etc... and this was the combo I was looking at but not sure if it's suitable as I'm pretty new to pc gaming and hoped someone here could advise me.

    Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+,
    CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K Black Edition (95W), 4x 3.70GHz, boxed

Pretty sure one of my friends games on one with no issue.

i3 4160 and a cheap mb like MSI H81M P33 is about the same price. Intel is generally better for solely gaming PCs
