Hi, bought a house last year and the previous owners have the carpet ripped up in the upstairs so the real timber floors are showing. They look great but does anyone know how to clean them without them getting too damp or the timber warping?

Belt sander with fine grit paper

    When you say "clean" them.
Do you mean just general day to day cleaning? (or month to month in my case :) )
If they're varnished or painted you can just give them a mop as normal.

Just general day to day cleaning. There is gaps between them though so I don't want to get them too damp or it might damage ceiling underneath

The grooves were prob cut at some stage to lift the floor board.

Use a vacum cleaner to keep the dust/dirt off day to day.
Then a damp mop every now and then for an extra clean. Dont drench it for reasons you mention.
