crush on exit of cubicle house

Anyone have this set up? Or would it be impossible get them out into the crush? Thinking if the crush was at the side wall exiting the cubicle house and a panelled gate so the only source of light was the exit into the crush they might come through willingly to get out? I'm looking for a cheap alternative to building and concreting a new crush chute and holding pen!

I have a small yard with crush at the top end of the cubicle house. The end of the cubicle hose is closed except for a small door leading out into the yard. A nightmare trying to get the suckler cows out the door. They know the crush is there and they just don't want to go out the door. You might have the same problem.

Could you let them out a bit and then turn them back a bit into the crush. That way they will think they are getting out and will leave the shed no problem.

I have a crush and chute already and its also a nightmare getting them to run up the chute! All they want to do is reverse or turn around! Very frustrating working with this crush set up and after the herd test yesterday I have just about had enough of fighting with cattle! Really want a new solution

For speed in testing my money is on a crush that they'll go in and get out of quickly and easily rather than a long crush. A 3-4 cow crush is plenty long enough. A side exit at the front can be very useful too. It's very important that the gate at the back is able to close easily and quickly.

Some great ideas here for a crush design.

If I had an operation big enough, I'd consider getting one of those forcing pens like in the picture below. I saw one working in the meat factory In Nenagh a few years back and they're a great job.
