My OH father told us he is buying us a new car ( I know we're very lucky) but he had his sights set on a 08-09 car.
He has about 3grand plus a trade in on our 05 micra.
I had a conversation with the OH and had said what about getting a new car on finance with the money her father has plus 4grand in scrappage deal.
Turns out the payments ona new pulsar are very affordable for us both.
I viewed the pulsar yesterday an it's a gorgeous car.
1.2 turbo petrol with plenty of poke and smooth as you'd like. Economical and easy on the juice.
Anyone else any opinions of them??

There are better cars in this class out there but it's not a bad car, just does nothing spectacularly to stand out from the crowd.

The scrappage discount Nissan is offering is obviously a big plus and if you like the car overall then it sounds like it's a no brainer.

It has a nice look to it though. 17 inch alloys, Bluetooth and all that jazz and very very roomy and with another baby due in two months it's ticking all the boxes :)

Have to say every time i see one in a carpark it makes me look twice. Cant put my finger on why but definitely a great looking car.

Have to agree, a properly specced Pulsar looks well, it's a nice change to the regular motors on the road.

The nismo pulsar caught my eye first and seeing the standard model I got a liking to it straight away.
I havint seen one on the road yet. They have a nice sporty look about them and with the alloys and il be going with the black with tints i think it'll look well.

I drove the mid spec one twice last Saturday, was impressed, plenty of poke in the 1.2 engine, decent spec, good looks IMO & was very impressed with the leg room in the back

A lot of leg room in front and back and big boot and it's perfect for what il need it for.
    Would you buy one?
What do you think of the price?

It ticked a lot of boxes for me, I qualify for scrappage but pcp doesn't suit us & the hp payment was a little high, but if the numbers worked, it would certainly be a strong contenter compared to others in the same class, nothing I disliked about it so yes I guess

    Just an update.
I took the oh to my old garage in Toyota and she and myself fell for the auris.
Cheaper on finance and looks better.
So seems we are going for an auris

Seen quite a few on the road locally, probably because we have a couple of local dealers.

I think they look nice, although nothing too radically different from most other things in the segment.

Driving a rental one at the moment, 1.2 Litre Petrol Automatic with 3000km on it.

    Seats are a bit uncomfortable.

Feels a bit high up on the road.
Very quiet on the motorway though and the stereo is very good.

Boot is plenty big, enough to fit 6 Ryanair sized cases three across stacked on each other I would think.

It's a bit strange, its too big to be a City Runaround and not comfortable enough for long trips.

Looks nice though, my neighbor was saying he might steal the 17 inch alloys when I'm not looking.

I drove both the 1.33 petrol and 1.4 diesel Auris for a day (both loan cars whilst mine was being serviced), I liked both engines but the interior is manky. The dash is like a big plastic cliff waiting to fall over. I would prefer the looks of the Pulsar myself, the interior looks nicer and seems bigger, although I've only sat in one, not driven it. Best of luck with whichever you go with.

    Update.
Seems after much discussion on it were gonna go for the auris ( sol)
Alloys , fogs and extras which is what I want. If gonna get new car il get it all :)
Anyway all that's left now is picking a colour.
