U.S. Tax Returns - Problem with Taxback.com

    Hi,

I'm not sure if here, the U.S. board or legal discussion is the best place to post this. If it's in the wrong section, please feel free to move it mods.

Last year, I went the States last year on a 12-Month work visa. During that time, I ended up taking a job which employed me as a 1099 contractor, which made me liable for taxes. Stupid I know, but I was really desperate.

In order to pay the money due, I got in touch with Taxback who assured my that they'd be able to file it for me. I then submitted my documents on the 31st of March, and was told that I'd get an estimation pretty quickly. Since filing, I got in touch with them three times, and was told on each occasion that I'd get an answer soon. I got in touch with them today, and the agent admitted that they mightn't be ready by tomorrow. She also mentioned that I'd be liable for any late fees incurred.

Does anybody have any advice as to what do in this situation? I'm not sure if this is even relevant, but I did give the company power of attorney. Any opinions whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!
