As most people are probably aware there have been a number of serious fires in and around forest plantations over the last number of weeks during the spells of dry weather.
It is illegal to burn vegetation until September 1st. If you notice a fire near a plantation or on a mountain/bog/heathland, call it in to 999. You will not be charged for the attendance of the fire services at the fire.
So much taxpayers money has gone into forest investment over the last 20 odd years and it represents a huge investment on behalf of the landowner and pension holders. Let's put an end to illegal burning.
