Bought one in powercity at the weekend, decent price but think I have a problem

The red indicator light continues to blink although the food appears to be frozen as expected
have tried it at severat temperature settings , turned it on and off to reset but light continues to flash.
Rang the company helpline ..they said try to re inflate the rubber seal as it may have become compressed in transit using warm water ..no effect

Is the appliance using extra power trying to maintain temberature ?
or given that the food seems fine could the light be faulty ?
Do fancy the hassel of repairmen and emptying freezer if its not going to be a major issue
(also have missed placed my recipt !!!)...and cant locate where the 10 digit identity number is either on the freezer.

    Any Help

the first thing you need to check is the temperature with a thermometer, it needs to be reaching a running temp of minus 18 to 23c, red light normally goes out at minus 8, whereas freezing begins at 0,
