09 Chevrolet Lacetti keeps Chugging

I have a 09 Chevrolet Lacetti and the engine keeps chugging, both when stationary and when moving. Its well serviced and maintained. Its not the plugs, ignition coil or filter. Mechanic is checking fuel pump/tank, someone suggested to me that it might be a fuel injector (whatever that is). Its fine for the first 200 metres when you start driving then the engine amber light starts flashing and car starts chugging, like its not getting power, foot is to the floor of the accelerator but no oomph.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
