Theres a knocking sound when steering right, was told theres a bearing gone.
The car passed the NCT with no problems even with this
Will this cause a problem or is it ok to leave?

I'd be inclined to think the cv joint is gone on that side, not a wheel bearing, It won't let you down short term but you'll need to get it replaced.

Was told by a mechanic it was a bearing, he said there was no rush getting it done...might take it to s different one to have a look at
So will either the cv joint or bearing cause a problem long term?

CV joints have bearings in them so thats probably it.

It will get worse and worse until it breaks, it won't happen over night but still needs fixing.

Eventually it will fail completely and leave you stranded so you should obviously get it done before that happens.

    What make/model/year car is it?
