I am starting a new job soon as a service advisor in a car dealership.

I have never worked in this position before so any advice from anyone with experience in this role or of working in a car dealship would be greatly welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Oh busy busy busy.

My advise is to be as truthful as you can with the customer, your boss wont agree, but stick at it customers DO understand that mistakes happen its all about how you deal with it.

OH and the big one, take no **** from salesmen, they honestly think they are the kingpins of any dealership. they will want you to jump every time and will sink you at every opportunity.

Thanks for that, yeah that's true if there was something wrong I'd rather someone told me straight out myself and it wouldnt be as much an issue.

What about the mechanics side of it.? What's the best way of approaching them? Would you just be seen as the eejit in the office or would there be much hassle there do you think?

No hassle if your straight with them, find the best mechanic in the place and approach him with respect and your sorted. They are not grease monkeys, they are your best hope of success in the future.
