Can anyone direct me to the laws or rules covering stickers on windscreens in Ireland please?

I didn't find the law, maybe move this to Legal forum?, but found this article
    http://www.independent.ie/regionals/corkman/news/tinted-car-windows-passed-nct-test-but-garda-not-satisified-27082467.html
and for having a windscreen sticker that extended 12 inches down into the windscreen
guilty to having the sticker, which is deemed ' unessential' in law and is in breach of the Road Traffic Act.

Ok I'll amend the title to avoid confusion.
Can you clarify what type of sticker you mean? Maybe with a picture or something?

Its a marriage equality yes campaign sticker. Its about 4 inches across and 4.5 inches high. Is it legal to put it in the back windscreen centered on the bottom of the windscreen or does it have to go to one side? My car seat head rests already obscure some of my vision through the back windscreen across the bottom. I just dont want to be pulled by a Guard for having it there.

I wouldn't have thought there was any law regarding the rear windscreen considering vans can have complete blackout.

There's no problem putting stickers on the back window or rear side windows. It's only prohibited on the windscreen and the driver/passenger side windows.

Political sticker eh? Just make sure you put dead center!!!

Wouldn't want it to be leaning either left or right... :pac:

Good to see that you aren't putting it where most people do, right in the place where the rear view mirror sees. But these are usually the same people who have a dozen MagicTrees handing off the rear view mirror and the SatNav in the middle of the windscreen so can't see what's ahead or behind them.
