I have a Laguna 3 (2008) and the ABS / ESP warning lights have came on and stayed on. My mechanic (an ex-Renault mechanic) has diagnosed that the ABS unit needs to be replaced. Seems like a chip on the computer has the problem. the cost is about €1,300 + labour. He said that over the past month he has seen 3 Lagunas with the same fault and when he called his mates in other garages they had seen similar problems with 2008 models. it seems like there is a faulty batch of units out there. he recommends contacting Renault and asking for the replacement unit as it's a chip / component and not a mechanical fault. Have any of you had the same problem. What did you do. What would you recommend. Is there a high number of owners with this problem. thanks.
