    Hi,

Can anyone identify this flower. The flowers are very large, six to eight inches in diameter. The tree it came from would be in excess of twenty feet tall.

    Thanks

Definitely Magnolia, possibly Soulangeana. Beautiful trees -- just coming into flower now

I think it's the variety 'Big Dude'. Not too common but I've seen it around.

They are looking gorgeous at the moment - some in Mt Congreve gardens (Waterford) I saw at the weekend, flowers at the top of 40 ft trees, amazing!
