Probably best to put this here to get most coverage.

I got an email earlier in the week offering me a €50 voucher from Tesco.

All they needed was my name address and email.

Anyway..gobbledygook name and address and a casual email address later and I get another email.

    Hello, hjj!

    A promise is a promise!

Due to some internal logistic problems, TESCO will not be able to deliver your 50 € VOUCHER by post.
Fortunately we managed to get a more simple way to deliver your VOUCHER VALUE
directly into your account so you can spend it however you like.

Take a minute to confirm your account information below and that`s it.

    And a link .

    This was the link mimijac.com/voucher/confirmation.php?id=

All they now want is my name, address, date of birth, bank account and visa card details, where I lived when I was 10 and of course my verified by visa password.

And the promise of €50 in my account within 4 days :D.

Needless to say I wont be filling the form in...BE WARNED

Maybe you did but there is no valid reason for wanting to know my life history and my verify by visa password to send me a voucher.

They want to buy your data. If you don't want to give it to them then you don't get the voucher.

    Well done for recognising phishing/scam.

As I keep telling my ma, "if you didn't request a contact mail from someone, just delete it".

    Important note to our customers:

We have become aware that the Tesco name is being used in what may be a computer scam. Consumers are being contacted by email and invited to access a Tesco survey and win a €50 gift voucher. Recipients are then asked to provide personal details about their home address, date of birth and credit card information.

Please be advised that Tesco Ireland is not involved in any such survey and would never ask for consumer details in this way. Should you be contacted for any such survey, please report it to the Gardai Helpline on 01 666 0000 or Gardai Fraud office 01 666 3776.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact us.

€50 and all you have to do is fill out a form? You'd have to be a sucker not to! Send me on your details there and I'll fill it out for you. I'll take €25 and I'll send you the other €25. Easy money... :pac:
