Can anybody tell me how much space a tonne of meal takes when blown into a shed ?
Thinking on building a meal shed but wondering to myself but want to do my sums to see would it be more cost effective to put up a silo

+1 and i have a meal shed i built. Only reason it has an advantage is if you are getting high molassis content meal or something like that.

allow for angle of flow when calculating

Meal shed is fine if your tipping in trailer loads. If blowing get a silo makes more sense in the long run and less issues with pests.

Also most bulk delivers are minimum of 3 ton these days.

If you only using small amounts an ibc bag is very handy.

So would i be right in saying a 10x10x8ft room is 800 cublic feet and in a perfect worl would hold 16 tonne ?

It's way easier to get meal out of bin instead of shovelling it out of a shed. How much would you pick up a good secondhand 6 tonne bin for?

Never ever see the bins seacond yand i know its easyer and keeps vermij away but aside from this what are the advantages

If you are blowing a blend it has to be less than 4% molasses. Around my area operators have min 4 tonne delivered.
