I was at that event. It was a two day event as far as I recall. Got to see Savon up close as he stepped over the top rope. Unreal. As far as I recall Damaen Kelly beat the world number 1, Waldemar Font from Cuba. He had lost to him previously. Neil Winters at 63 Kgs was stopped via a body shot from a great Olympic champion, Hector Vinent from Cuba.

I was at that also. I'll never forget Savon, he completely stole the show, danced down the steps high-fiving any spectator near him on the way to the ring. I'd forgotten about Kelly's win until you just mentioned it. Brilliant performance.

I recall that Savon at that time was a global amateur star. The most famous amateur since Teofilo. He really was big time. No other amateur was that known and famous since. And Savon still had two golds left in him.

Good old Hector. Had the privilege of training with him in Havana last year and also getting the mother of all hidings off pretty much every Cuban in the gym. He's a gas man and was very eager to show me his photos of him stopping Winters!

Perfect, brings back a few memories. Was there only one night mainly to see Savon, because he`s a legend, and Todorov who`s style I liked. The reason I remembered that night is that I saw a video of Todorov being the last man to beat Mayweather, and found him v Griffin video online. Forgot the Kelly fight too, that was a super win. Full house the night I was there and the crowd was brilliant. Hope they do something like that again in future.

Thanks everybody, especially Ah Sure for the link.

Meant to add that the Griffin fight is on youtube

Todorov and Griffin fought to a draw, (decided on count-back) but watching it back I think Todorov was the winner. Griffin stayed with him and made it very competitive, but he didn't win it.
