Walker TV

I just purchased a Walker WP3214SMWI-F as it has both terrestrial aerial and satellite inputs.

Having installed it, it seems that I can tune to either the terrestrial aerial or the satellite, but not both!

This is frustrating as neither platform has all the channels.

I may be missing something - is this normal operation or should I expect a TV to be able to switch seamlessly between aerial & satellite inputs?

In all the Vestel TV's (which includes Walker, NordMende, Toshiba, etc), the two channel lists can't be merged.

You have to either press OK to get the Channel List and press, IIRC, red for Terrestrial or Yellow for Satellite. Or, press what I think is My Button 2, or Favourite 2, or something like that, which pops up a box to choose terrestrial, satellite or cable.

Can you not make a favourites list and then add then add the channels from each dvb source ?

I am guessing that the fav lists only operate from within the environment of each tuner ? I dont see why it couldnt work. Software shortcuts I'd guess, not limited to walker - the problem also exists on other Combo IDTVs. These TV's are closed source linux software of course so only walker will be able to do this.

I can see the option to press red to get to aerial channels, however it tells me no channels are listed, and it seems to me the only way to setup a list of terrestrial channels is to go back to initial installation and choose "terrestrial aerial", but that comes with a a warning that my existing channel list (the sat channels) will be deleted :(

I dont mind having two separate channel lists (one woudl be preferable, but I can live with 2), but at the moment it looks like I can set up just one, but it has to be either Terrestrial or Satellite & not both

I must be missing something, as that is just dumb ...

    OK - I think I've sorted it.

Despite the warning when I went to tune the terrestrial channels that it would delete my exisitng digital channel list, it seems that only referred to the list associated with the aerial. The satellite channel list was still intact, so now I can switch between the two lists.

Things always look different in the morning :)

Now I just need to se eif I can setup a favourites list that includes both terrestrial & satellite channels, so my wife can use it
