Plastidip Alloys,........ to do or not to do ?

Have MB staggered alloys on a '99 SLK 230K.

They are the original flat multispoke type in good condition except for some scuffing/corrosion on the flat areas of the spokes. Was considering a Plastidip to breathe new life into these ? How much prep is needed for this approach ?

Any thoughts or suggestions on this idea and might black(matt or gloss) be a better choice ?
