My girlfriends mother has a Mercedes, something like an 03 C class, the power steering is gone in it, Mercedes quoted her about 3000 to fix it and Atlas quoted her around 1500, just wondering if anyone could recommend a decent (honest/competent) mechanic around south Dublin she could go to.

I've used Trevor Smith (Mercedes Diagnostics) fro the last 5 years and have found him very good.

He was on the Kylemore Road but has moved over near Sandyford.

PM me if you would like his mobile number.

going to a maindealer would be madness for a car that age, the 3k is more than the car is worth... Valdas motor confidence has a good reputation, at that cost, I would be getting a few quotes! I can pm you the name of another mechanic I use out by the Nass road, might be worth giving him a call, he does work far cheaper than others I have used when I need to get work done...

    Try www.nctrepairs.ie

Its northside, dublin 3, but they are vag specialists and have all the mercedes diagnostic stuff. I do the owners website and was there last week. Quite a few mercs getting work done. Gerry is the owner. No harm asking. A fixed car is wirth more than a busted one.
