Tried to check some lotto slips I had today on shop machine but apparently doesn't check new green lotto slips .. Staff member who I wouldn't trust big time whisks them through in 3 seconds and tells me no joy ...no slips back etc ... Do some shops have the new machines for checking lotto ?

Sounds like you were a definite jackpot winner. The shop guy screwed you over.

    Get your duelling glove ready.

Been the case for the last few months, lotto license was sold so there was a complete system overhaul. You can still check them online.

Just check online. Why check in shops and risk winning the jackpot and the neighbours knowing.

Usually they ask if you want the ticket back and if you say no they're supposed to tear it up in front of you and bin it.

Lotto checkers should be back up and running within 2 weeks ( or so I have been informed by lotto)

The checkers were supposed to be upgraded for the beginning of February after the old yellow tickets expired after their 90 days. This in of itself was ridiculous as within about 2 weeks of the new machines in November, most of the old tickets were checked and out of circulation and thereafter it was only the odd oul one who found one in the back of a drawer are down the side of a couch that had an old yellow ticket to check. In their infinite wisdom the new lotto decided to leave the self checkers doing the one or two yellow tickets a day and till staff to manually check the hundreds of green tickets every day instead of upgrading the self checkers after two weeks and have the self checkers able to check the hundreds of green tickets a day for customers and leaving the one or two old yellows to be checked by till staff.

However, February came and no sign of the checker machine upgrade. March 20th and an engineer arrives and rejigger some wiring and tells us the software upgrade for the machine will happen on the 27th. 27th comes and goes and nothing. Get letter from lotto on Friday saying it'll be sometime in April. FFS!!

The new lotto has been a farce from the start.

At least we don't beat and burn a person to death over alleged page burning of a religious text.

The system worked just fine with zero failures in 27 years when the State owned it

You can blame privatization for all mess ups here

Question to the OP; as you're posting on here, you presumably have the means to check your numbers online. Why don't you do that?

A man comes running into his house "I'VE WON THE ****ING LOTTERY!!"

His wife is ecstatic, "OH MY GOD!! REALLY!?"

"Yeah pack up some clothes honey"

"Should I pack for cold or warm weather?" she asks him.

"I don't care honey JUST ****ING GET OUT!"
