    The article says;

    "The Irish Independent has learned that the company wrote to city and county councils in February, asking them to provide tenants' names following the conclusion of a national registration campaign.

    It also wrote to around 400 landlords who own 50 or more properties, seeking the information"

    so the answer to your question, IMO, is no.

    I just received a bill for water for my apartment in Dublin. The occupier I understand should pay the bill. If not the non occupied fee should be charged. I live in Germany and they know my address. As always money being wasted firing bills out to any one & everyone. It still seems unclear how this will pan out.

    My tenants who are like many people not willing to pay the bill for Irish water. They have not received one yet they are registered PRTB. My question is if they plan to leave and still do not pay the bill. Do I have to pay from their deposit? Will I have to tell Irish water who they are? Will I have to pay a bill that is not mine by right because they refuse?

    I feel it should be like any other service and be in a persons name not on the property. If a UPC bill was not paid they would not come after me would they?

    Call the number on the bill, tell them it's rented out, give them the tenants name ( yes the data protection officer allows this)

    Your hands are then washed off it
