    Hey Folks,

I'm likely going to do the 105km route for this and I was wondering if anyone has any local wisdom to impart on the route, particularly the climb from Bunclody to the 9 stones.

Should be a good day out with plenty of opportunities to strengthen the legs!

Will be doing the 105km route myself. Climb from bunclody to the 9 stones is a fair drag, will test the legs but it's not as hard as coming from the myshall side. Hope the weather is kind.

Sorry lads, only seeing your post now. The climb up from Bunclody is long but manageable. It gets steep in about three sections. The steepest part of the climb is as you pass a farmhouse with a high stone wall on your right ... Get past this bit and you've the worst over with. The climb to Mt. Leinster (9 Stones) is much more gradual, and has lovely views on a clear day. Be careful of the cattle grids, particularly on the descent.
Hope you can make it ... for anyone arriving early there is no shortage of food! and hot food at the end. It's a really good training route for anyone doing the Mt Leinster Challenge in May.
