I'm sure everyone knows about that recent murder trial - it was everywhere in the media.

I got to wondering why it got so much coverage? Plenty of other people are murdered in this country, and murder trials happen all the time, why did this one deserve so much airtime?

Was it because there was sex, depravity, BDSM, etc involved in it?

Yes, and the usual suspects will have books on the trial ready to sell the day of sentencing.
