Forgive me if this is a stupid question but is there any benefit to buying your iphone from the apple store with a credit card vs a debit card? Is there any extra insurance/protection involved with credit cards? I know apple aren't going to go bust or try scam me but I'm wondering if there's any insurance involved later on if the I break the iphone or loose it for example?

Some premium (platinum/gold circle etc) credit cards come with insurance protection for theft or accidental damage for xx months on something you buy with the card. If there's no annual charge on your credit card beyond the Govt. duty then you have a bog-standard card and the answer to your question is 'no'.
